This year Summer BAC will have several full tuition scholarships for our Summer Roots in NYC, in addition to some additional financial assistance for any and all artists. Casting Announced For HAIR At Los Angeles LGBT Center

Casting has been announced for the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center's production of the iconic musical Hair. Under the direction of Kate Sullivan with musical direction by Jared Stein, there will be two preview performances on Wednesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 26, at 8pm. Opening is set for Friday, March 27, at 8pm in the Davidson/Valentini Theatre. The regular performance schedule will be Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm through April 26.

Award-winning filmmaker and actress Angela Matemotja strikes a distribution deal with indie film specialist Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, for her celebrated feature, ELEVATE. Slated for an on-demand release, including iTunes, Amazon Prime Video and Google Play beginning on July 2nd. Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films negotiated the deal on behalf of Matemotja Productions.

Broadway Dreams has partnered with the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and Central Piedmont Community College on the return of their annual Summer Intensive, July 29 - August 5, 2017 in Charlotte, N.C. Lead by an all-star roster of Broadway's brightest stars and industry professionals, Charlotte's rising stars will participate in a week-long intensive focusing on acting, vocal performance and dance. The week will culminate in two public performances of a unique Broadwaystyle cabaret, allowing students to perform alongside their Broadway idols.

At the E Spot Lounge, upstairs at Vitello's, Studio City on Tuesday April 18, Amy Brothman and Dianne Fraser produced a delightfully eclectic evening of song and storytelling under the supervision of musical director Michael Lavine, titled simply Michael Lavine & Friends. What a treat! Lavine, who lives most of the year in New York, is a director, performer, coach and musical genius par excellence. He has produced a CD also entitled Michale Lavine & Friends, which, like the show, offers rarely heard songs from less familiar Broadway shows. Some of these are musical gems, and for one reason or another, never hit the charts.

Stars from Broadway's Hamilton, Wicked, Rent, The Book of Mormon, Chicago, Allegiance, Godspell, Sweet Charity, A Chorus Line, and some surprise celebrity special guests united last night for the first annual all-star benefit concert BROADWAY SNIFFS OUT CANCER. The show was presented at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater to raise money to train our canine friends to save lives, as well as honoring of the loved ones we've lost to cancer.
