Pina De Rosa Hosts Red Carpet Book Launch for FIT FROM THE INSIDE OUT, 11/1
by Christina Mancuso
- Oct 26, 2015
On Sunday, November 1st, at 2pm Gratitude International will release 'Fit From The Inside Out' with a rooftop red-carpet launch. This celebration is designed to highlight a holistic approach to health & fitness. International Keynote and TEDx Speaker, Award Winning producer and Mindset Effectiveness Expert Pina De Rosa will welcome guests on the rooftop of the Santa Monica Place Mall for this red-carpet champagne toast with friends, Alexis Carra of ABC Family's Recovery Road and active volunteers, supporters all to celebrate together with live music, inspiring speakers. In 'Fit From The Inside Out,' De Rosa who was date-raped her first semester in college, shares how such negative experience opened positive doors, rather than shut her down from her life. Today she speaks on college campuses on date-rape awareness and sexual assault prevention: her intention is to end the date-rape epidemic once and for all.
Date-rape is considered to be the most underreported crime on college campuses against both men and women. As highlighted in the gripping documentary 'The Hunting Ground,' 16-20% of students are assaulted and 88% of those students do not report it. Nationwide, 1 in 5 women are raped on college campuses annually.
'Results are not achieved with willpower alone, nor with just diet and exercise, but by exploring the deep seeded emotional blocks that keep us from achieving what we want to achieve,' De Rosa says. 'Not everybody is raped, and not everyone needs to lose 50+ pounds, but nearly everybody has some emotional blocks that are preventing them from getting where they want to be.'
After her acclaimed TEDxTalk 'Choices...Choices...', and after co-leading The New Hollywood's 'Get My Body Back' Health Elective with award-winning actress and Founder/CEO of 'The New Hollywood' Brianna Brown, De Rosa was inspired to take her health & fitness results to a whole new level, and ended up writing a book about her journey to losing the extra 50 pounds she had gained as a form of 'protection' after being raped, and finally getting her body back. The idea of this book sprung within the framework of 'The New Hollywood' (TNH) 501(c)(3), a women's philanthropic goal group that helps support women within the entertainment industry to achieve their personal and professional goals, to be a positive example and to make a difference. TNH intends to inspire everyone to ?Rise Higher, Shine Bright & Give Back.
For those who are tired of the emotional rollercoaster, 'Fit From The Inside Out' is a journey that gets us to look beyond the 'how' into the 'why', giving access to the missing piece of the puzzle that most people don't know about - how to recognize that there is self-sabotage, how to reach out for the appropriate support, and what to do differently that will make a difference once and for all.
Eating healthy and exercising is not enough - there are a lot of books that tell us 'how'. What we really want to know is what underlies the 'how', and that is what her book is about. There are plenty of other books that tell us what to do, and how to do, but unlike any other book out there, 'Fit From The Inside Out' tells is why willpower alone is not enough and why some things we have done in the past have not worked for us.
The book is designed to explain how people can do what De Rosa did which is step off the emotional roller coaster, stop decades of dieting and lose the extra weight. It's not just about the 'what', it's not about the 'how', it's about the 'why.'
De Rosa is inspired to take this subject to college campuses around the United States as a way to continue a dialogue that makes a difference for all our students, both young women and young men. The intention is to raise awareness and to look at questions, and behaviors, that can help prevent date-rape and sexual assault on our campuses. More at www.CollegeSpeakingWithPina.com. Her mission is to end date-rape on campus.
Foreword for 'Fit From The Inside Out' was written by award winning Minnesota born actress and Founder & CEO of 'The New Hollywood' (TNH) 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Brianna Brown. 'Fit From The Inside Out' will bring awareness to the work of www.TheNewHollywood.org (of which De Rosa is a board member) as well as www.SniffingOutCancer.com and its #HugAPup Challenge (of which De Rosa is the Execute Producer).
'Fit From the Inside Out' invites you to the rooftop red-carpet book launch on Sunday, November 1st at 2pm, in Santa Monica, CA. Join them for a champagne toast, live music by Jason Luckett, and an inspired talk with Alexis Carra and Pina De Rosa - this event will benefit www.SniffingOutCancer.com & www.TheNewHollywood.org and is sponsored by Expert Dojo and Whole Foods Market.
