Death Takes a Holiday... A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER Sets Winter Closing on Broadway

Death is but the next great adventure for Broadway's A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. BroadwayWorld learned this evening that the Tony Award-winning Best Musical will play its final performance on the Great White Way on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Producer Joey Parnes announced the news today. The musical's record-breaking run at the Walter Kerr Theatre will have played nearly 1,000 performances on Broadway, and its Tony Award-winning star, Jefferson Mays, will have died more than 6,000 deaths as various members of the illfated D'Ysquith family.

Single tickets are on sale today for Manhattan Theatre Club's three productions presented as part of the 2015-2016 season at New York City Center - Stage I: Ripcord, the world premiere comedy by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce; Prodigal Son, the world premiere play written and directed by Tony Award, Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award winner John Patrick Shanley; and the American premiere of Incognito, the new play by Nick Payne, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes.

Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove have announced complete casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Ripcord, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS continues The Old Globe's 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival as part of the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities during the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. With three shows on Broadway this year, Tony and Emmy Award nominee Scott Ellis makes his Globe debut directing one of William Shakespeare's most delightful confections. The Old Globe engagement began performances on August 16 and run through September 20, 2015, with opening night tomorrow, August 22 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) just announced Rachel Dratch (Love's Labour's Lost, "Saturday Night Live"), Glenn Fitzgerald (Hamlet, The Sixth Sense), and Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Holland Taylor (Ann, "Two and a Half Men") will join Drama Desk Award winner Marylouise Burke in the cast ofManhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Ripcord, the new comedy by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce.

Darko Tresnjak-Helmed KISS ME, KATE Extends Through Aug 9 at The Old Globe

The Old Globe's presentation of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, will now add a week by popular demand and run through August 9 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets for the extension will go on sale this Sunday, July 12 at noon.

Carole Shelley to Depart A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER; Successor Set!

It was announced today that Judy Blazer will join the cast of the Tony Award winning Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, in the role of Miss Shingle.  She will begin performances on Tuesday, June 30.  Carole Shelley, who currently fills the role, will play her final performance on Sunday, June 28.
