STT Announces Regional Premiere of LELA & CO. by Cordelia Lynn

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2019 season with the area premiere of Lela & Co. by Cordelia Lynn. STT alum Natalie Young (The Great God Pan, Bull, Red Light Winter) is Lela, a woman recounting the unspeakable horrors she faced in the middle of a war zone. Garret Storms (Martyr) portrays the series of men who interrupt Lela's story, and her life, as they use and abuse her for their own profit.

STT Opens 2019 Season With INCOGNITO By Nick Payne

Second Thought Theatre begins its landmark fifteenth season with the area premiere of Incognito by Nick Payne. STT Artistic Director Alex Organ returns to helm this year's season opener, having previously directed Grounded (2017), Cock (2014), and A Behanding in Spokane (2013) for STT.

Second Thought Announces Details For State Of Mind 2018

Second Thought Theatre announced today details for this year's Second Thought State of Mind, an event celebrating STT and gathering support for the award-winning theatre company. The fifth annual Second Thought State of Mind invites guests to an evening of fun and fundraising featuring entertainment by Janelle Lutz. Second Thought State of Mind 2018 will take place on Friday, November 2 at Sammons Center for the Arts.

Second Thought Announces World Premiere of ENEMIES/PEOPLE by Blake Hackler

Second Thought Theatre's 2018 season continues this June with the world premiere of Enemies/People by Dallas-based playwright and artist Blake Hackler. Making her Second Thought directorial debut is Kara-Lynn Vaeni, a theatre and opera director and educator at Southern Methodist University. Second Thought Artistic Director Alex Organ returns to the STT stage for the first time since The Great God Pan in 2016 to star as Tom Stockmann. Loosely adapted from Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, the play is "a timely world-premiere about the search for truth in the age of alternative facts." Enemies/People begins with previews on Wednesday, June 13 and runs through Saturday, July 7. All performances of Enemies/People will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus; 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Enemies/People can be purchased online at secondthoughttheatre.com.

Dallas Theater Center Presents WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) presents White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Studio Theatre. White Rabbit Red Rabbit begins on May 30 and runs through July 1. DTC Announces New Diane And Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company Member

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) announced that Ana Hagedorn will be joining the Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company at the beginning of the 2018-2019 season as the Linda and Bill Custard SMU Meadows Actor.

DTC Presents The World Premiere Of THE TRIALS OF SAM HOUSTON

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) presents the world premiere of The Trials of Sam Houston by Aaron Loeb at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Directed by DTC Enloe/Rose Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty, The Trials of Sam Houston begins on April 20 and runs through May 13.

Second Thought Theatre Announces Area Premiere of EMPATHITRAX

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2018 season by reuniting Jenny Ledel and Drew Wall for the area premiere of Empathitrax by Ana Nogueira. Wall and Ledel previously starred opposite each other in Second Thought's 2015 hit Belleville by Amy Herzog. Carson McCain returns to direct after previously directing The Great God Pan (2016) and assistant directing Belleville and Booth. This year she directs "a compassionate, humorous, and unflinchingly honest portrait of a relationship that dares to test the limits of intimacy." Empathitrax begins with previews on Wednesday, April 4 and runs through Saturday, April 28. All performances of Empathitrax will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Empathitrax can be purchased online at secondthoughttheatre.com.

BWW Review: FRANKENSTEIN at Dallas Theater Center

It may not be Halloween anymore, but there are still monsters in Uptown. Nick Dear's Frankenstein, presented by Dallas Theater Center in association with the Theatre Division of the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, revisits the classic story with a gritty, humanistic twist. Helmed by director Joel Ferrell, Frankenstein lurks at the Kalita Humphreys Theater with a menacing, if not slightly gapped retelling.

Second Thought Theatre Opens 2018 Season with HILLARY AND CLINTON

Second Thought Theatre opens its first four-show season since 2013 with the area premiere of Hillary and Clinton by Lucas Hnath. Laura Colleluori makes her STT directorial debut after previously serving as assistant director and dramaturg for Grounded (2017) and A Kid Like Jake (2016). This year she directs a work of total fiction about a woman named Hillary who is trying to become the president of a country called the United States of America in an alternate universe light years away. Hillary and Clinton begins with previews on Wednesday, January 10 and runs through Saturday, February 3. All performances of Hillary and Clinton will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Hillary and Clinton can be purchased online at 2TT.co.
