Review: THE MURDER OF THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD is a Charming Whodunnit at The Masque

The Masque and Cape Town Theatre Company joined forces to bring their adaptation of Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd to the stage, aptly titled THE MURDER OF THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD. The production is adapted by Stephan Fourie and Faeron Wheeler, and Stephan helmed its direction. Staging this play must’ve been a delicious challenge, with its play-within-a-play structure, levels of meta-awareness, and stagecraft surprises. 

Petite Violette Hosts Holiday Dinner Shows

The holidays head to Petite Violette already this month, with the return of the Murder, Mystery, and Mayhem show: HollyMark's Holiday Countdown to Murder. It opens the weekend of Saturday, November 18th and runs through Saturday, December 30th, playing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Playwright Larry Alexander has always been a fan of Agatha Christie and over the years has read and re-read her work. At the height of the Pandemic, Larry was in rehearsal for a new musical that was shuttered into the second week of rehearsal. With no idea when the musical would remount, Larry was trying to find something, anything to occupy his time and fill the void. He began re-reading the works of Christie, and while reading his favorite novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, he found what would soon occupy the coming months/years.

AMC Licenses NAUTILUS Live-Action Series From Disney Entertainment

AMC Networks has licensed the U.S. and Canadian linear and streaming rights to Nautilus, a 10-episode live-action series inspired by Jules Verne’s beloved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, from Disney Entertainment. Nautilus tells the origin story of the iconic Captain Nemo: an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family.
