YouTube Orders New Comedy WEIRD CITY from Jordan Peele and Charlie Sanders

YouTube has given a straight-to-series order for WEIRD CITY, a half-hour comedic sci-fi anthology co-created by Academy Award and Emmy Award winning writer Jordan Peele and Emmy Award nominated writer Charlie Sanders (Key and Peele). The six-episode series will debut exclusively on YouTube Premium in 2019. Emmy winner Adam Bernstein (Fargo, Scrubs, 30 Rock) is set to direct the first two episodes.

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern have announced the upcoming 2018-2019 Season.

The Off-Broadway League has announced that Terry Byrne was elected as the new President of The Off-Broadway League. Byrne is the first female president in the nearly 60 year history of the League. The organization also announced three new additions to the Board, including Dean Carpenter, Steven Chaikelson and Casey York.

The New Group has announced four world premiere productions for its upcoming 2018-2019 Season. The company's new season begins in Fall 2018 with Sharr White's The True, directed by Scott Elliott, with Edie Falco, Michael McKean and Peter Scolari. The company's season continues in Fall 2018 with Clueless, The Musical, by Amy Heckerling, with choreography by Kelly Devine, directed by Kristin Hanggi; followed in Winter 2019 by Jeremy O. Harris' 'Daddy,' a co-production with Vineyard Theatre, directed by Danya Taymor, featuring Alan Cumming; and in Spring 2019, Jesse Eisenberg's Yea, Sister!, directed by Scott Elliott.

Recently two powerful New York institutions, Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn and the renowned theater company The New Group, announced a new partnership to help train the next generation of great actors. The New Group has announced full casting and creative team for Lily Thorne's Peace for Mary Frances, with Heather Burns, Johanna Day, Natalie Gold, Mia Katigbak, Paul Lazar, Brian Miskell, Melle Powers and J. Smith-Cameron joining, as previously announced, Lois Smith in this world premiere production directed by Lila Neugebauer.

The New Group has announced a second extension for the New York premiere production of David Rabe's Good for Otto, which will now play its final performance on Sunday, April 15.  Due to demand, the company previously announced a one week extension through April 8.

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.

Previews begin tonight, February 20, in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, March 8.
