TREVOR BACHMAN is a composer, vocalist, and writer of socially-focused musicals. Perhaps
best known for using the human voice's extremes, Trevor’s pieces fuse the classic traditions of
opera with storytelling practices of the modern theatre.

“Bachman has an acute understanding of the human voice and its boundaries, its possibilities, and the different character inherent in each of its registers...The resulting sound, so raw and desperate, sends a physical chill through the body” (Not Your Average Downtown Blog, 2013).

Described by the New York Times as "musically and vocally rich" and Trevor was noted for "shimmering harmony" (Ben Brantley, NYT, 2016) and “golden voiced”, “soulful vocals” (Vulture and TheaterMania, 2018).

Musicals include PYRE CANTATA (HERE), In Real Life: A Slenderman Musical (Theatre for a
New Audience, reading), and Piano Bar (Duplex/Joe's Pub) in collaboration with the late composer, director, and theatre visionary Elizabeth Swados.

Trevor’s concert and theatre pieces have been performed Off-Broadway, internationally in cities like Abu Dhabi, London, and Tokyo, and at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Joe’s Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, and countless venues in New York City.

Among other original musical credits are Coromandel, The Lobotomist, and Detentionicide.
DUAT, Fable, The Nomad, Times Square, and more -- on which Bachman worked as arranger,
music director, or composer -- appeared off-Broadway.

Bachman has created several social and political pieces designed for unique companies of actor-musicians, including Chasing Fear, a new musical in English and Turkish. FARMED: A Live Podcast Album, which has been supported by Fresh Ground Pepper, The Parsnip Ship, ATC, Theater C, Kickstarter HQ, Rattlestick, and Joe’s Pub at the Public, will tour theatres, community centers, and cultural institutions around the U.S. in 2019, sourcing interviews from dozens of communities nationwide. Trevor is also writing Shapeshifters, a new musical celebrating 50 years of Stonewall, originally commissioned by the Denovan Grant.
