The community of artists in New York continues to inspire themselves, each other, and the quarantined public - this time with a self-made lip-sync video from Broadway's Jordan Grubb... with a little help from his friends.

Who is that emerging from his borough? Today, February 2nd, officially marks Groundhog Day, the annual holiday that celebrates the legendary groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. In honor of the occasion, we're looking back at the musical adaptation of the classic movie, Groundhog Day. Theatre Aspen (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) continues its 36th Season with Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's, sci-fi musical-hit, Little Shop of Horrors, which officially opens tomorrow, Friday, July 12 at 7:30pm at the Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park (470 Rio Grande Place).

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical concluded its Broadway engagement at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at West 47th Street) last night, September 16, 2018. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, the critically acclaimed, award-winning new musical will conclude its Broadway engagement at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at West 47th Street) on Sunday, September 16, 2018, due to previously planned theatre renovations beginning mid-September. Early in 2019, school and youth group licensing rights will be available, with professional licensing to follow. Additionally, a North American tour will begin fall 2019 (cities, venue engagements and casting to be announced at a later date). The production, which began previews on November 6, 2017, and opened on December 4, 2017, will have played 327 regular performances and 29 previews.

Encores! will present Me and My Girl as the final production of the Encores! at 25 season at New York City Center. Me and My Girl, the first Encores! production originally written and produced in London's West End, will star Christian Borle, Bill Buell, Chuck Cooper, Suzzanne Douglas, Mark Evans, Harriet Harris, JohnHorton, Simon Jones, Laura Michelle Kelly, Lisa O'Hare, Don Stephenson. The three time Tony Award nominated actor joins the lineup for the previously announced HUMANS OF PUNXSUTAWNEY: A GROUNDHOG DAY REUNION atFeinstein's/54 Below. He is joining original Broadway cast members who are reuniting for the first time since Groundhog Day The Musical's closing in September, for a one night only concert event.

Today, Tuesday, August 15 at 6:15pm, the producers of the Olivier Award-winning Best New MusicalGroundhog Day, which opened on Broadway to critical acclaim this spring, announced that the show will end its run at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) on Sunday, September 17, following 176 performances and 32 previews.

Masterworks Broadway and Broadway Records have announced the release of Groundhog Day The Musical - Original Broadway Cast Recording. Produced by Chris Nightingale, Tim Minchin, and Michael Croiter, the album is available digitally beginning today, April 21, and on CD May 12.

There ain't no party like a Groundhog Day party! After sustaining an injury onstage last week during his performance in GROUNDHOG DAY, leading man Andy Karl went on in the role of Phil Connors for yesterday's opening night.
