Craig Francis BIO

Craig Francis is a renowned Canadian writer, illustrator, performer, and multi-disciplinary creator, whose works are enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. As a founding member of the 20K Collective, he is the co-Author and co-Director with Rick Miller of the theatrical productions Jungle Book and Game of Clones, as well as their Stage Manager. Craig is the co-Author and Stage Manager of the hit Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea (directed by Miller) which played Off-Broadway at The New Victory Theater, and is now touring internationally. He is a Producer and designer on Miller's solo productions BOOM and BOOM X. He is co-creating Frankenstein (with Miller and Paul Van Dyck), and writing Wizard of Oz and Rose Red. Craig illustrates the animated cartoons for the Kidoons.com Network, as well as writing and voicing characters. Kidoons videos are on display at museums in 4 Provinces in Canada, and online in the U.S., with millions of views. Craig has co-developed performing arts software; created award-winning marketing designs and brands; illustrated several books; appeared as a comedian on CBC, CTV, and Showtime; and his voices can be heard in animated series and games.

Rudyard Kipling's classic works are adapted and directed by Craig Francis and Rick Miller in this modern, multimedia take on a beloved story of the connection between humanity and nature. Produced by Kidoons, WYRD Productions and The 20K Collective and presented by Young People's Theatre, JUNGLE BOOK takes the story of Mowgli and his animal friends and refreshes it for kids today; in this version, Mowgli (Levin Valayil) is a 25-year old architect living in the urban jungle of New York City and struggling to reconcile the harsh nature of urban architecture with his roots in nature. His crisis halts when his sister sends him the 'Jungle Book' that he used to document his childhood adventures with the wolves who raised him, Baloo the bear (Matt Lacas), Bagheera the panther (Mina James), and more.

Produced by Kidoons and WYRD Productions, BOOM begins performances on Thursday, January 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 23. Press Opening is Wednesday, January 15 at 7:00 pm. Young People's Theatre Launches 2019/20 Season

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts is proud to welcome back Rick Miller for the Montreal premiere of BOOM X, a Kidoons and WYRD in association with Theatre Calgary and The 20K Collective production. BOOM X is the second installment in Miller's trilogy of shows designed to tell a big-picture story: 75 years of history in this corner of our planet. While BOOM explored the Baby Boomer era, this sequel tells the story of Generation X: the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Just in time for Valentine's Day, BOOM X rocks the Sylvan Adams Theatre at the Segal Centre from February 14 to March 10, 2019.
