Rock legend Billy Idol is debuting the demo version of of his 1984 hit single “Flesh For Fantasy” from the original Rebel Yell recording sessions in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the landmark album.
DREAMCAR, the new wave supergroup consisting of No Doubt's Tony Kanal [bass], Tom Dumont [guitar], and Adrian Young [drums] and singer Davey Havok [AFI, Blakq Audio, Ramones X], have announced the forthcoming release of the ‘Dream EP', out this Friday, April 5 2024.
Originally released in November 1983, Rebel Yell is the twice-platinum followup to Idol's self-titled debut. The album features the iconic singles “Eyes Without a Face,” Flesh for Fantasy,” “Rebel Yell” and “Catch My Fall.” The reissue is available in 2xLP, 2xCD, and digital formats. Following a successful limited theatrical run, Billy Idol: State Line, a Vertigo Live concert film documenting the rock legend's April show at the famed Hoover Dam—the first ever concert performed at the location. The Blu-ray and DVD have bonus features, including an exclusive Q&A with Idol's longtime guitarist and collaborator Steve Stevens.
Fans around the world will be able to access the show at Veeps.com as well as via the Veeps app on Apple TV, Roku, iOS and Android. Fans who acess the Veeps stream will receive access to exclusive bonus material including never before seen footage of Idol performing the tracks “Rebel Yell” and “Bitter Taste” at the Hoover Dam.
The movie highlights the history and significance of Hoover Dam and includes performances from two unique sets of Billy Idol’s iconic hits: a full band concert at sunset with special guests that electrified and illuminated the surrounding Black Canyon and an acoustic duo set on the roof of the powerhouse at the foot of Hoover Dam.
The reissue includes the original ten track album, a previously unreleased recording of Idol’s complete August 12, 1982 concert at The Roxy in West Hollywood, CA and the recently unearthed and previously unreleased 12-minute Clubland Extended Remix of his classic song “White Wedding.”
Fresh off a performance at Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, rock legend Billy Idol confirms a new run of headline shows in August and September. The dates include debut performances at New York City’s Kings Theatre, D.C.’s The Anthem and Boston’s MGM Music Hall as well as an appearance at Jazz Aspen Snowmass with the Foo Fighters.
The once in a lifetime concert, which featured special guests Alison Mosshart (The Kills, The Dead Weather), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) and Tony Kanal (No Doubt), was filmed for a forthcoming concert film produced by Lastman Media and scheduled for theatrical release through Encore Nights later this year.
