BIO
Tim Cummings recently portrayed Lars in the world premiere production of Weston Gaylord’s Octopus’s Garden at Boston Court. For his work on the stages of SoCal, he has won three LA Drama Critics Circle Awards, for The House in Scarsdale at Boston Court, The Normal Heart at The Fountain, and The New Electric Ballroom at Rogue Machine, for which he also received the LA Weekly Award for Best Supporting Actor. Selected LA: Daniel's Husband at The Fountain; Cal in Camo with Red Dog Squadron at VS Theater; Need To Know at Rogue Machine, The Woodsman at Coeurage (StageSceneLA Award for Performance of the Year); Reunion and Eurydice at South Coast Rep, Hamlet and The Winter's Tale at Theater 150, WAR and The Walworth Farce at Theater Banshee, Tartuffe at Boston Court, The Pursuit of Happiness at Laguna Playhouse. Bway & Off-Bway: The Guys directed by Jim Simpson, Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune directed by Joe Mantello. While working in NYC, Tim was a member of The Flea Theater (Jim Simpson), The Builders Association (Marianne Weems), and Big Dance Theatre (Annie B Parson). Film/TV: Dead Serious, Bind, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Grimm, Rosewood, Kensho at the Bedfellow, Criminal Minds, My Two Fans, Presence, The Box, etc. He holds a BFA in Acting from NYU and an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch. He is a twice-published novelist who authored the acclaimed coming-of-age books, Alice the Cat (Fitzroy Books 2023), and The Lighting People Play (Black Rose Writing 2025). He teaches Creative Writing for UCLA’s Writers’ Program.
