Pete Dorton is an award-winning actor, producer, director and writer based in New York City, originally from Pitsburg, Ohio. With a dynamic career spanning stage, screen, and live events, Pete has brought stories to life both in front of and behind the camera. He recently produced the AMT International Film Festival in NYC and is working on the second festival in October, adding to a growing list of successful projects in film, theater, and event production. Up next Pete is directing the Off Broadway show Invisible Fish starring Kell McGuire at AMT Theater. One of his first industry jobs was as a green room coordinator for Good Morning America in 2000 when they moved their studio to Times Square. Since then, he’s earned accolades as a performer and film producer, including a Best Actor award at the 2017 Chelsea Film Festival for his role in the short film Lou.
His feature film In Fidelity, was released in November 2024, which he both co-starred in and executive produced, alongside an ensemble cast including Chris Parnell, Cara Buono, Dennis Haysbert, Willow Shields, and Illeana Douglas. He executive produced the 2023 drama Bobcat Moretti, starring Vivica A. Fox, which debuted to strong success hitting #1 on Starz for three consecutive weeks. Werewolf Game, a feature he executive produced, starring Tony Todd, Bai Ling, Lydia Hearst, and Robert Picardo, released in January 2025.
Pete continues to champion independent film, with five shorts currently on the festival circuit, including his latest The Entertainer starring Lance Roberts and Tony award winner André De Shields. He is also founder of YOLO Theatre Company, a platform dedicated to bold, original storytelling. Pete is Director of Film and Management at AMT Theater.
