Cabaret is Alive and Well and Living in Los Angeles, benefit concert weekend for The Actors Fund, is back for the 6th year in a row. Conceived and Directed by David Galligan, the 3-night event is presented by Fraser Entertainment Group. All proceeds benefit The Actors Fund.

The Actors Fund and Fraser Entertainment are very proud to announce the 5th annual presentation of CABARET IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN LOS ANGELES.  Conceived by renowned director David Galligan, this fifth celebration of Cabaret in L.A. will take place as a series of 3 concerts over 3 evenings at 3 different Los Angeles venues, Friday, October 12, Saturday, October 13, and Sunday, October 14.  Proceeds from all 3 shows will benefit The Actors Fund.

There are undoubtedly other productions worthy of merit in 2016 which I did not cover. This list is based only on what I saw and reviewed. (alphabetical listings; Equity, Equity-waiver & Non-Equity productions are mixed) (artists performing outside LA may be included in performance categories) No set, costume, technical awards. I leave that to the bigger awards and to the expertise of those who really know those fields inside out.

On Thursday May 19 consummate singer Pat Whiteman presented An Evening of Pat Whiteman & Grammy nominated songwriter Harriet Schock at the E Spot Lounge at Vitello's in Studio City to a sold-out house of arduous music lovers. Although not as well known as the others, Harriet Schock has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon. Her pop songs are that good, for example 'Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady' which gave Helen Reddy a great big hit back in the 70s. Who better to interpret her incisive emotional messages than virtuoso Pat Whiteman? The evening was a divine songfest of original material with a 6-piece band, including Schock at the piano and electronic keyboard, and two backup singers. There were also special guests: Gary Lynn Floyd, who has an uber expressive singing style perfect for Schock's music...and movie composer Misha Segal who co-wrote the gorgeous 'First Time on a Ferris Wheel' with Schock.

Pat Whiteman will bring her acclaimed show "A Whiteman Sampler" to Palm Desert's Arthur Newman Theatre on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 2 PM.

Versatile and popular singer Pat Whiteman and Grammy-nominated songwriter and recording artist Harriet Schock will debut a new show on Thursday, May 19 at the E Spot Lounge in Studio City. Gary Lynn Floyd will serve as special guest along with a substantial band including Joe Lamanno on bass, Jennifer Richardson on cello, Andrea Ross-Green and Barbara Shane on background vocals, Scott Breadman on percussion, Kelly De Sarla on flute and Brad Blaisdell on harmonica.

(mostly)musicals returned to The E Spot Lounge on Monday, August 24, 2015 for LUCKY NUMBER 13 (a cabaret that COUNTS). The diverse musical selections all featured numbers, and were performed by an exponentially talented array of singers under the music direction of the award winning Gregory Nabours. Jason Graae, who directed her SRO show “The Mood I'm In” four years ago at the Gardenia is back directing again and this time John Boswell serves as music director.

On Wednesday, June 3, A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returned to Rockwell: Table & Stage in Los Feliz for its 8th edition, showcasing the best of new musical theatre writing with an incredible cast of Broadway and local talent. Following spectacular performances at Upstairs at Vitello's, The Catalina Jazz Club and the El Caballero Country Club, Fraser Entertainment Group is back at Vitello's for a third round, welcoming a whole new cast of singers from Broadway, television and film for AN EVENING OF CLASSIC BROADWAY, on Monday August 25.
