Raven Theatre will conclude its 40th Anniversary Season with the Chicago premiere of The October Storm, by Joshua Allen, a follow up to Allen’s smash-hit The Last Pair of Earlies.

Raven Theatre, Chicago's newest Equity-affiliated theatre, has announced casting for its Chicago premiere of The October Storm by Joshua Allen, a follow up to Allen's smash-hit The Last Pair of Earlies, directed by Malkia Stampley.

Due to popular demand, The Story Theatre's Chicago premiere of  Marie Antoinette and the Magical Negroes is pleased to add one additional week of performances, extending through Sunday, July 24, 2022 on Raven Theatre's Schwartz Stage, 6157 N. Clark St. (at Granville) in Chicago.

The Story Theatre will present the Chicago premiere of MARIE ANTOINETTE AND THE MAGICAL NEGROES, written and directed by Chicago playwright and Governing Ensemble Member Terry Guest. This new play, which explores rebellion and Black liberation through the lens of the French Revolution, will play June 30 – July 17, 2022.

The Story Theatre will welcome back audiences with the Chicago premiere of Marie Antoinette and the Magical Negroes, written and directed by Chicago playwright and Governing Ensemble Member Terry Guest.

Four sisters form Yorta Yorta, in country Victoria, perform a Supremes tribute show. Their first gig is a tour in Vietnam to entertain the troops on the front line. To their surprise they come too close to the dangers of warfare while dealing with clashes of races, the trials of relationships and the challenges of performing in a foreign war.

The multi award-winning musical play inspired by the remarkable true story of writer Tony Briggs' mother, The Sapphires, is heading to Riverside Theatres for a limited season this September as part of a national eight month tour.

INSURRECTION: HOLDING HISTORY, directed by Wardell Julius Clark, opened at Stage Left Theatre on January 11th and runs through February 11th. The play, written by Robert O'Hara, tells the story of a Ron, a young African-American man who trying to complete his grad school thesis on Nat Turner's Slave Rebellion. Aided by his great-great grandfather, he travels 189 years back in time to meet Nat in person. This journey forces Ron to confront his identity, his sexuality, and his family history.
