Earth-a-lulia! Reverend Billy and The Church of Stop Shopping Sets Up Permanent Home in Loisaida

Reverend Billy and The Church of Stop Shopping has established a permanent creative home at 36 Avenue C (Loisaida Ave., corner of E. 3rd Street), where the troupe will evolve new works and perform weekly on Sundays at 3:00 PM. The location, renamed Earthchxrch, is a former bank branch (first North Fork, then Capital One).

WASTED! THE STORY OF FOOD WASTE to be Presented at Gold Coast International Film Festival

From executive producer Anthony Bourdain, “WASTED! The Story of Food Waste” aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of celebrity chefs like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world's most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. “WASTED! The Story of Food Waste” (Anna Chai & Nari Kye | 2017 | 85 min. | USA) is a documentary examining the issue of food waste, its contribution to climate change, and how we all can make small changes, all of them delicious, to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st Century.

Kat Lozano Joins ANIMAL HUSBANDRY As Lead Producer; Creative Team Announced

Lone Star Theatre Company has announced that Kat Lozano joins ANIMAL HUSBANDRY as lead producer. The London based, Texas born, actress joins a team of producers that include producer Elda Ruiz-Dawson and associate producers Ramiro & Lupita Davila, Charles Barksdale, and Luis Ochoa-Andrade. David Davila's Animal Husbandry will premiere at the Under St. Mark's Theatre as part of the New York International Fringe Festival this October 2019 with direction by Sidney Erik Wright and intimacy choreography by Adele Rylands. The play stars David Michael Kirby and Daniel Anthony Hidalgo with lighting design by Hao Bai and costume design by Keyon Woods.

David Davila's ANIMAL HUSBANDRY Will Play New York Fringe

Lone Star Theatre Company is proud to announce that David Davila's Animal Husbandry will premiere at the New York International Fringe Festival this October 2019. This will be Lone Star Theatre's first full production after eight years of successfully bringing a?oeTexas Pages to New York Stagesa?? through its on-going reading, one-act play, and concert series. With direction by Sidney Erik Wright and starring David Michael Kirby and Daniel Anthony Hidalgo, Animal Husbandry will open October 10th at the Under St. Mark's Theater. 

Gold Coast Arts Center's Caroline Sorokoff Named Among Premier Businesswomen Of Long Island

Long Island's leaders in business and the nonprofit field gathered recently for the Premier Business Women of Long Island Awards Gala, held at the Heritage Club at Bethpage. Among the honorees included Caroline Sorokoff, who is the Associate Director of the Great Neck-based Gold Coast Arts Center and the Director of the Gold International Film Festival. The awards program, sponsored by RichnerLive, a division of Richner Communications, honored 48 business women for excellence in their fields and contributions to their communities.

Gold Coast Int'l. Film Fest Offers Free Screening Of Oscar-Nominated Short Films To Affected Federal Workers

The Gold Coast International Film Festival is offering a respite for federal workers impacted by the prolonged partial government shutdown; free screenings of Oscar-nominated short films in advance of this year's Academy Awards. The screenings, which are open to the general public, will take place on Sunday, February 10 at 6 p.m. in Port Washington, and Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Great Neck. A select number of tickets will be set aside at each screening for the government workers.

FringeNYC Announces Sold Out Shows And Bestsellers

FringeNYC, the adjudicated portion of the new NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL, begins performances tomorrow, October 12, 2018. The festival will offer 80 fully staged theater and dance productions at 10 venues in Manhattan;s West Village all centered around a new FringeHUB. Patrons for all performances begin their FringeNYC experience at the FringeHUB at 685 Washington Street (corner of Charles Street) and are ushered to their venue. All tickets are $22, available for purchase up to 15 minutes prior to the performance at FringeNYC.org or via smartphone/device at fringeonthefly.com.

SeriesFest Returns to Denver this Summer for Fourth Season

The award-winning international television festival SeriesFest has become a must-attend destination event for entertainment industry leaders and fans alike since its launch in 2014. FringeNYC Extends Application Deadline to April 8

After a one-year hiatus to restructure and re-envision, The New York International Fringe Festival will present the 21st festival this October - the first time the festival will be presented in the fall instead of its usual end-of-summer slot. The application deadline for FringeNYC has been extended to April 8, 2018. Applications received by the original deadline of March 28th will still receive notification (accepted, alternated, declined) on or around May 16th. Applicants who meet the extended deadline of April 8th will be notified until on or around June 1st. PLEASE NOTE the extended deadline can only be offered to local and national applicants. International applications MUST be submitted by the original deadline in order to meet the required visa preparation schedule.
