Write On is pleased to partner with Door Shakespeare for a sonnet writing contest in anticipation of Door Shakespeare's production of 'As You Like It,' running June 29 through August 26, in the Garden of Björklunden, Baileys Harbor. In the play, the character Orlando pins verses on the trees in the Arden Forest, declaring his love for Rosalind. Sonnets submitted to the contest will be incorporated into the set design of 'As You Like It.' Who doesn't want to see their poetry on stage?!

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre Associate Artistic Director, Marcella Kearns, has announced that she will step down following the 2021-2022 Season after 10 years of service. Kearns will transition this summer to her, in her own words, “other favorite Wisconsin theatre company,” Forward Theater Company in Madison, where she will assume the part-time role of Artistic Associate.

Directed by First Stage Young Company faculty member Marcella Kearns, with fight and intimacy direction by Christopher Elst, MACBETH is filled with ferocious battles, supernatural horrors, famously gorgeous poetry and some of the Bard's most vivid characters.

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre has introduced two new staff members who joined the organization this winter. Samantha Martinson takes the formal position of Education Associate after working with MCT since 2014 in varying capacities including acting, assistant producing, and literary support for the Young Playwrights Festival, and Malkia Stampley will establish the role of Milwaukee Black Theater Festival Artistic Producer.
