On the heels of the heralded opening of Eclectic Full Contact Theatre’s production of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit at the Skokie Theatre, director Michael Woods and star Andrew Pond join radio’s It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee for an interview airing on Friday June 10 at 3 PM Central on 101.5 FM WHRU.

Internationally-renowned actress Judy Rossignuolo-Rice stars in this Tony Award-winning drama about a rigidly conservative nun who is tasked with investigating allegations of misconduct between a beloved and progressive parish priest and one of the students in his care. 

Her Story Theater will stage the world premiere of INVISIBLE, written by Mary Bonnett, as its Fall 2019 production. INVISIBLE imagines a woman in a small Mississippi town in 1925 who is forced to reconcile her involvement in the modern Women's Ku Klux Klan movement with her religious beliefs and sense of decency.

The handlers of a 'bad boy' entrepreneur go to extremes to give him one last big bash before his past catches up to him. An explorative immersive theatre experience a la Sleep No More, guests travel from room to room throughout the space and follow stories of revenge and murder as they play out in real time.

In Kawecki's play, to be directed by Pride Films and Plays company member Iris Sowlat, 53-year-old Julia is afraid of getting older. Despite attempts to recapture her youth, her body keeps reminding her of her advancing years. With the help of her younger female lover's magic act, Julia creates a new, magical life to help her accept the inevitability of aging by find out who is she is and who really needs her love.  The play was an entrant in Pride Films and Plays' annual "LezPlay" competition in 2016 and was produced by Queer Theatre Kalamazoo this past January.

The Artistic Home will open its 2017-18 season with a lesser known, but wholly timely piece: WEDDING BAND: A LOVE/HATE STORY IN BLACK AND WHITE, by eminent African-American playwright and author Alice Childress. It opened to the press on Sunday, October 29 and will run through December 17, 2017. Last seen in Chicago in 2003 in a co-production between Steppenwolf and Congo Square Theatre, its first-ever showing here thirty years prior was but one stop in this play's march toward due recognition.

Hello Dolly is the opening production of the 39th Summer Theatre Season at the Abbeville Opera House with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm on June 9, 10, 16, 17 and 23. There will be three Saturday matinees at 3pm on June 10, 17 and 24. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and military and $10 for students.

Dandelion Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for OHIO STATE MURDERS by Adrienne Kennedy, the second production in their 2016-17 season.
