The Hershey Area Playhouse presents Hot 'N' Cole: A Cole Porter Celebration! Presented here with wonderfully fresh arrangements with some contemporary twists, over 50 of his songs are woven into a show that feels as much like a book musical as a revue. By turns wry, irreverent, romantic, touching and hilarious, this is a postmodern Cole Porter evening unlike any other. The show will run Thursday, May 19, Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21, at 7 pm.

With a 100 percent volunteer cast and production team, this show features an extraordinary cast of 20 talented performers ranging in age from 18 to nearly 60, who are thrilled to be performing live once again. Rehearsals blended digital vocal and characterizations rehearsals in 2020 with live rehearsals in 2021.

Hershey Area Playhouse is holding digital auditions for Rock of Ages. Digital submissions will be accepted until Monday, May 11, 8 p.m.

Hershey Area Playhouse has announced an exciting schedule of theater for its 2020 season.

Palmyra Area High School's Musical Program is currently in the final weeks of rehearsals for its upcoming pilot production of Amélie: High School Edition to be presented Sat., Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. on the stage of the Palmyra Middle School. Palmyra is partnering with the creators of the 2017 Broadway musical and Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Theatricals Company, on a special pilot production. The musical has been adapted for high school performers, and Palmyra will present the show prior to its general release. The pilot process allows Samuel French to fine-tune the script, music, and materials.

Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to present Once Upon a Mattress, a musical comedy with music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer. It's an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea.

Last week, Broadway Dreams hosted a star-studded musical theatre master class and summer intensive.  The annual weeklong intensive welcomed aspiring young performers from throughout New York to embark on a rigorous week of Broadway-caliber training -focusing on acting, vocal performance and dance - learning from the brightest and best industry professionals.
