Francesca McGrory was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Always an active attention-seeker as a child, Francesca began training for a career in entertainment as one of The Toronto Performing Arts Training Centre's first pupils. Francesca was accepted into the school's first company at the age of nine and finished her senior year as one of six students graduating from the centre's advanced showcase company. Her final two years there, she had the opportunity to play both of the TPATC musicals' leads: Sharpay Evans in High School Musical and Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. Francesca's numerous Canadian credits include her work with Lorraine Kimsa's Theatre for Young People, Second City and The Sears' Drama Festival among others. Graduating private high school a year early, Francesca wasn't out a week before she began a conservatory program at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.
