Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre Presents FRECKLEFACE STRAWBERRY, Beginning 2/23

Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre presents Freckleface Strawberry - The Musical on Saturdays and Sundays beginning February 23 and continuing through March 30.

Based on the beloved book by celebrated and award-winning actress Julianne Moore, Freckleface and nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award for outstanding new Off-Broadway musical, the musical steps inside the book's pages with Freckleface and her friends as they confront bullying and learn to love the skin they're in.

The Downtown Cabaret Theatre, a not-for-profit performing arts service organization, is the first professional performing arts organization in the State of Connecticut to offer a Sensory Sensitive Performanceof one of its own productions. Sensory Sensitive Sunday of the new family musical stage production ofFreckleface Strawberry - The Musical is scheduled on Sunday, March 3 at 5:30pm.

Francesca McGrory, who played Freckleface in New York, will play Freckleface Strawberry for the Cabaret engagement. Born and raised in Toronto, her other Off-Broadway credits include Tortoise and The Hare and Bye, Bye Birdie. Francesca has worked with Toronto's branch of the renowned improv troupe Second City and The Sears' Drama Festival among others. In New York, she is on faculty at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center Kids Program teaching tap and ballet.

Gary Kupper who wrote the music, lyrics and arrangements for Freckleface Strawberry - The Musical, is the director of the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre production.
