Eljon Wardally

BIO

Eljon Wardally is an award-winning Grenadian Italian-American playwright and screenwriter whose work amplifies underrepresented voices and brings visibility to the unseen. Her play, I Am...a Shepherdess, premiered at the International Black Theatre Festival as part of a commission from the Finding Holy Ground grant. She is the 2024 recipient of the Sylvia Sprinkle-Hamlin Rolling World Premiere Award. Her play, Blooming in Dry Season has been performed at NC Black Repertory, New Federal Theatre and the International Black Theatre Festival. Wardally’s storytelling is rooted in a commitment to authenticity, compassion, and social relevance. She writes about loneliness, national and family secrets but also has a zest for telling stories with a dark comedic twist.
