Moonbox Productions has announced its theatrical line up for the 2021-2022 season.  In October, Moonbox kicks-off its season with Richard O’Brien’s hilarious cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show, followed in December by the Tony nominated comedy-drama rock musical, Passing Strange.

Moonbox Productions has announce that it has selected eleven original plays by local playwrights for its 1st Annual Boston New Works Festival.  Moonbox will host the New Works Festival June 24-26, 2022 at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Harm's Way Productions has unleashed DEVILS NIGHT on iTunes. Adam Forrest, Elizabeth Peterson, Alex Ho, Nolan Freeman, Kristina Cohen, Shani Atias and Kevin Grossman star in the story of a lonely teen who accidentally unlocks a gate to Hell in the quest for Internet stardom.

The Painted Queen, the final book in the Amelia Peabody series, has just been released by William Morrow. Though I cannot remember the precise year I discovered the series by Elizabeth Peters, I do recall my response: Gimme! One after the other, I devoured each installment. I couldn't get enough of the supremely feisty heroine whose ability to attract murder and mayhem was matched only be her keen intelligence and rapier wit. And her archeologist husband, Radcliffe Emerson? Bluster and brawn and a brain coveted by his peers, this was a man up to the challenge.

Nikita Burshteyn, 22, is an award-winning actor who's making a name for himself in the San Francisco Bay Area, and not just because he's got a tricky name to pronounce. When he played Judas in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' at STAGE 1 Theater in Newark, Linda and Nick Hodges of BroadwayWorld.com raved: 'The show should be renamed 'Nikita Burshteyn Superstar.' The theater should be filled with talent agents waiting to give him an offer.' When he played Tony in 'West Side Story' at Broadway by the Bay in Redwood City, Joanne Engelhardt of the Palo Alto Daily News gushed: 'With Tom Cruise-good looks and an angelic voice, Burshteyn is the real deal.' And when he did his San Francisco cabaret act, 'Livin' Nikita Loca,' Richard Connema of Talkin' Broadway compared his 'full-throated voice and flawless phrasing' to Jonathan Groff's.

The Boston One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF) returns with a twist: the sixth annual festival will celebrate the works of all women-identified playwrights and directors, as part of 1MPF's National Women's Initiative. Boston joins New York, Minneapolis, Chicago, South Florida, and other cities including an all women-identified cohort of artists this season. The aim of this program is to get a cohort of women-identified theatremakers in the room, uphold the important themes, ideas, conversations, and dialogues that bubble up to the surface, and hold space for valuable community conversations.

On April 18, Hershey Felder offered a a special preview of his show HERSHEY FELDER AS IRVING BERLIN in advance of his one-night-only engagement at The Town Hall on June 6th.  The unique preview event was performed at the former home of Irving Berlin and his family on Beekman Place.  

The brilliant actress BARBARA ROSENBLAT (Miss Rosa in Orange Is the New Black) stars in the poignant, sharp, and laugh-out-loud funny play by Jane Wagner, THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE. This one-night-only staged reading will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 8pm, to benefit the Chain Theatre (21-28 45 Road, Long Island City, 646-580-6003) .

Dallas Theater Center will present Dickens' classic tale, A Christmas Carol, at the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater. DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell will direct and choreograph this festive holiday story of redemption and forgiveness that has become a holiday tradition for DTC and for theater-goers across North Texas. This year marks the eighth and final season for this version of A Christmas Carol, which runs from Tuesday, November 20 - Sunday, December 23. Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen take the lead roles of Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont in Top Hat which opened on Wednesday 9th May at the Aldwych Theatre in the West End where the show is currently booking until 26 January 2013. To celebrate the cast were treated to an evening of ballroom dancing and 1930's glamour at the Waldorf Hotel, Aldwych. Check out photos from the big opening below!

The top ten finalists in this year's "Jump the Line" dance video contest have been announced, and now through April 16, the contest is open to fan voting to narrow the ten finalist dancers down to five.
