This past Thursday at Broadway Sessions was exceptionally a?oeWickeda?? at the 5th Annual Elphaball! We added some Glinda's into the mix this year an had an absolute blast. Our iconic lineup included Eden Espinosa, Saycon Sengbloh, Cassie Okenka, Kristy Cates, and Maddy Trumble with fierce special guests; Ally Ivey, Elizabeth McMonagle, Imari Hardon and Karine Hannah. We had such a blast celebrating the past, present, & future of a show that is so near and dear to us and theatre fans everywhere!

The Church Basement Ladies return to the Sierra Repertory's Fallon House Theatre October 14 through November 27 in A Mighty Fortress Is Our Basement. Directed by original Sierra Rep church lady Becky Saunders, the production will feature a brand new cast along with upbeat, fun new songs and story.

Set in eighteenth century Mississippi, the show follows Jamie Lockhart, a rascally robber of the woods, as he courts Rosamund, the only daughter of the richest planter in the country. The proceedings go awry, however, thanks to a case of double-mistaken identity. Throw in an evil stepmother, intent on Rosamund's demise, and her pea-brained henchman, and you have a rollicking country romp. With its distinct sound, colorful cast and unique form of storytelling, The Robber Bridegroom is a hidden gem!

Sierra Repertory Theatre's The Robber Bridegroom, a "country and southern" comedy, steals its way on to the Fallon House stage September 2 through 25.

?Funny Girl took the world by storm as a Broadway musical in 1964 starring Barbra Streisand, was adapted into a movie musical in 1968 where Barbra reprised her role and now it is hitting the Broadway Palm stage from April 7 through May 14, 2016. TheatreZone artistic director Mark Danni today announced that veteran actors Steven Geyer and TheatreZone favorite Laura Needle have been cast in leading roles as Vernon Gersch and Sonia Walsk in the non profit Equity theatre group's season finale Neal Simon's comedic gem, They're Playing Our Song.
