Guerilla Opera's season starts Saturday, March 14, 2020! Experience a showcase of five world premiere one-act operas written by composers from Guerilla Opera's inaugural Emergence Composer Fellowship in Slosberg Recital Hall at Brandeis University in Waltham. Featured composers and librettists include: Leah Reid, Caroline Louise Miller, Daniel Reza Sabzghabaei (دانیال رضا سبزقبایی) and Mina Salehpour (librettist), Jeremy Rapaport-Stein, and Niko Yamamoto and Athanasia Giannetos (librettist).
Musicians from the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Virginie Bove (flute) and Simeon Spasov (oboe) will perform together with the pianist Borislav Alexandrov, professor at the European University, a program that includes works by Telemann, Gaubert, Saint-Saens Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Baton and Chopin. Presented by PinnWorth Productions, this hit Broadway musical offers up a dramatized account of the roots of rock and roll and radio's role in embracing the new sounds that transformed the country. Dates and show times are: Fridays, Sept. 8 and 15 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sept. 9 and 16 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Sept. 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
