Four becomes three... According to Brooklyn Paper, the Theatre Development Fund closed down its Downtown Brooklyn TKTS window earlier this month due to low ticket sales.

Bernard Pomerance, the American playwright and poet who wrote the Tony Award winning play The Elephant Man, died at his home in Galisteo, New Mexico on the morning of Saturday, August 26, 2017.

Legendary designers William Ivey Long and Bob Crowley were among the four recipients of the 2009 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards. Five-time Tony Award winning costume designer William Ivey Long will receive the 2009 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for theatrical costume design, and, for his achievements as both a costume and scenic designer, Bob Crowley (also a five-time Tony Award winner) received the TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards' special Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatrical Design at a ceremony on Friday, March 27, at the Hudson Theatre in New York City.

New TKTS Booth To Open In Downtown Brooklyn 7/10


Theatre Development Fund (TDF) and MetroTech Business Improvement District today announced that a new TKTS Discount Ticket Booth located in the MetroTech Center in Downtown Brooklyn will open on Thursday, July 10 at 11am, preceded by a ribbon cutting ceremony. TDF will offer Broadway, Off Broadway, music, dance and Brooklyn performing arts events at discounted prices to Brooklyn residents and visitors. TKTS Downtown Brooklyn will be located on the ground floor of 1 MetroTech Center at the corner of Jay Street and Myrtle Avenue.

Application Deadline For Commerical Theater 5/22


The application deadline for The Commercial Theater Institute and the O'Neill Theater Center's new joint program, The CTI-O'Neill Summer Workshop, has been extended until Thursday, May 22nd.
