In Shakespeare’s time, a black flag would be raised over the theatre to indicate a tragedy. Well, a tragedy happened just before Shakespeare on The Green’s production of King Lear was to open. As King Lear himself put it, “Such groans of roaring wind … I never remember to have heard.”

On Friday, April 8, The Town Players of New Canaan will open Noël Coward’s delightful comedy, HAY FEVER at the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park as its next mainstage show for 2022. The curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. for a three week run. The production is directed by Deborah Burke and produced by Sheila Toner.

THE SCHOOL PLAY is directed by Danny Sharron. Performances begin December 10th and run through December 13th. A special Closing Night Gala Performance will be held December 13th.
