BIO

Daniel Ison is an actor, composer, and sound designer. He holds a B.A. in Music Composition from Eastern University.  

A large amount of his work consist of sound design for theaters in Philadelphia. In 2018 he was nominated for a Barrymore Award for Outstanding Original Music for The Art Swimming, produced by Tiny Dynamite. In 2019 he was nominated twice for the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Sound Design. That year he won for his sound design work on Gem of the Ocean, produced by Arden Theatre Company.

Arden Theatre Company Continues Season With August Wilson's RADIO GOLF, March 23- April 16

Arden Theatre Company is bringing audiences back into the world of August Wilson's ten-part series, The American Century Cycle. This time audiences will journey to Pittsburgh in the late 1990s for the final play of the cycle, August Wilson's Radio Golf. This bittersweet drama of assimilation and alienation in nineties America traces the forces of change on a neighborhood and its people caught between history and the twenty-first century. This is the fifth play in the cycle that the Arden has produced.  Kash Goins, who was an actor in the Arden's production of Two Trains Running, returns to direct. August Wilson's Radio Golf runs March 23-April 16.

RED LODGE Comes to Philly Fringe

Red Lodge, Montana is a new work co-created by director Michael Osinski and the ensemble cast. Set in the former girls' locker room in the basement of Bok, the show follows a troupe of actors as they attempt to produce their own send-up of Lynch's landmark television series Twin Peaks. What they end up creating is a live-action nightmare. Audience members will follow the characters through the performance space as if they are walking through one of David Lynch's films.
Curio Theatre Company Closes Season With THE WINTER'S TALE

Curio Theatre Company closes its season out with a classic work by William Shakespeare and a trial of a new ticketing initiative. The 2018-2019 will close with a new production of William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. This story of forgiveness, folly, and redemption will start previews April 24. It will open Saturday, April 27 at 8 p.m. Industry Night is Monday April 29 at 8 p.m. There is a matinee Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m. With this show, Curio wanted to look at ways to provide quality theatre programming at a fraction of a cost to the community. The company has introduced CuriosiTix: PLAY It Forward. With this initiative, Curio hopes to welcome new audience members that may have shied away from theatre previously due to financial constraints thereby creating a patron base that represents the evolving neighborhood of West Philadelphia. Inis Nua Theatre presents English playwright Monsay Whitney's Box Clever for its American premiere, directed by Artistic Director Tom Reing. In a women's shelter in London, headstrong, mouthy and maybe a little crazy Marnie struggles to take care of her four-year-old daughter in a moving and relevant dark comedy. This edgy two-hander stars Inis newcomer Ruby Wolf as Marnie, and Inis alum Rachel Brodeur playing all other roles. Previews begin Wednesday, February 6, with opening night on Friday, February 8. The show runs through February 24, 2019 for a total of 15 performances. All performances will take place at the Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 302 South Hicks Street. Tickets are $25 - $35.
