White Heron Theatre Company of Nantucket will open it's first production of the 2023 summer season, Blithe Spirit, by Noël Coward (Present Laughter, Private Lives) and directed by Skip Greer. Greer returns to Nantucket after directing 2017's Outside Mullingar for White Heron.

Papermaker, a two act play by Monica Wood, was first produced in spring 2015 at Portland Stage in Portland, Maine, more than doubling the company's all-time-record for ticket sales and attracting a new blue collar demographic to the theatre.  Chenango River Theatre's production will be just the 3rd production nationally of this compelling new play.

"Only tame birds feel longing. Wild birds fly."  Thus muses Ragnar, a recently retired small-town school principal, as he looks back on the things he never did, and tries to sort out what's ahead in this charming and wonderfully humorous play, mixing comedy, farce, drama, and an element of surprise.  Ragnar's vices are fine cigars and the occasional glass of whiskey.  Which brings him into conflict with his wife Anneli, who is trying to get him to lead a healthy life.  But is life without passion any kind of life at all?  Mix in the widowed town pastor Lars (Ragnar's faithful old friend), along with Lars daughter Monika, who shows up at the door in the midst of a possible divorce, and passions once again permeate the household.

Geva Theatre Center presents Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, a funny and poignant stage adaptation of the beloved Academy Award©-winning film.  Adapted by Todd Kreidler and based on the screenplay by William Rose, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is directed by Skip Greer and will be performed in the Wilson Stage from February 14 to March 12.

Opening the 10th Anniversary Season is a play from one of the company's favorite playwrights, Bruce Graham (The Outgoing Tide-2013; Mr. Hart & Mr. Brown-2014).  This piece, inspired by his parent's own love story, is a romantic comedy that proposes that a second chance at love is still possible, even for two people with a lot of miles on them.  You'll be laughing hysterically one minute, and grabbing your heart the next, in this gem of a play. 

Following the news of Harper Lee's death, Geva Theatre Center will dedicate its production of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD to her memory. The production, directed by Mark Cuddy opens officially on Saturday, February 20 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage until March 20. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Geva Theatre Center presents Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird as part of the 2015-2016 ESL Wilson Stage Series. To Kill a Mockingbird is adapted by Christopher Sergel and directed by Mark Cuddy, with original music by Gregg Coffin. The production begins previews on February 16, opens on February 20 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage until March 20.
