Last night, I attended the thrilling opening performance of Have Faith. Entering the quaint venue, I was fairly positive that a live performance of the album would be just as electrifying, if not more so, than the recorded tracks, and I'm ecstatic to report that Mary Testa, Michael Starobin, and cellist Alisa Horn absolutely exceeded my expectations and blew me away with their superb performances.

MARY TESTA - the two time Tony Award nominated singer and actress - and MICHAEL STAROBIN, the Tony Award winning orchestrator and arranger will perform four concerts in January to promote their new album Have Faith from Ghostlight Records. Fresh off her recent starring role on Broadway in Wicked, Mary will perform a special CD release engagement at The Laurie Beechman Theater at The West Bank Cafe January 4-5,11-12, 2015 at 7:00 PM. Music Director Michael Starobin, will join her on piano with Alisa Horn on cello. Just last night, Jeremy Jordan, Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, Carrie Manolakos starred in HIT LIST at 54 Below. The second season of NBC's Smash featured a fictional new Broadway musical called HIT LIST, written by characters played by Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, The Last 5 Years) and Andy Mientus (Carrie, Spring Awakening), and starring Krysta Rodriguez (First Date,The Addams Family). The fictional musical opened at Manhattan Theatre Workshop and then transferred to Broadway, opening at the Barrymore Theatre and winning seven Tony Awards. HIT LIST, a modern fable about identity and the price of fame, tells the tragic love story of a wannabe pop singer who transforms herself to become a star and the hidden songwriter she uses to get there - but at what cost? Eden Espinosa, Jane Monheit, Christiane Noll and Scott Alan were supposed to perform Alan's song 'Always' at the 'Broadway Blows Back' concert, raising funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The producers decided to move the performance back to December 10th, which Alan was unable to attend, so the group has recorded the song to promote the upcoming concert. Ghostlight Records has announced that the release of the long-awaited cast recording of Carrie: The Musical has topped the Musical Album Charts on Amazon.com for 24-hours straight and counting, ahead of staple best sellers Wicked, Jersey Boys, and Once, among others.

CARRIE: THE MUSICAL Holds CD Signing and Performance at Barnes & Noble Today, 9/25

For the first time ever, the musical Carrie has been preserved in a cast recording of the recent MCC Theater Off-Broadway revival. The cast of the revival - including headliners Marin Mazzie and Molly Ranson - will appear at Barnes & Noble (Upper East Side, 86th/Lex) today, September 25 to sign copies of the album and perform selections from the show.
