BIO

Albert Rubio III is a Seattle-based actor, teaching artist, and in charge of recruitment for the Departments of Theater & Performance Production at Cornish College of the Arts. His current passion project is an in-process anthology titled Stories From My Youth. Originally conceived as a solo show following the life of Ken Martinez, the future of the Stories From My Youth anthology will be to chronicle the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies affected by the AIDS Epidemic. Albert plans to work with living survivors and chronicle their stories, eventually distilling them into 30-minute solo pieces. Oswald in Ghosts marks Albert's Seattle acting debut, as well as his first role with Seattle Rep. Albert is a proud graduate of the American Conservatory Theater M.F.A. Actor Training Program, and the University of Evansville where he received his B.F.A. in Theatre: Performance.

Take a look at the first photos from Seattle Rep's production of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts, in a new translation by Paul Walsh. Directed by Carey Perloff, featuring Academy Award-nominated actor David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck; A League of Their Own; Nomadland), Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Scarface), and Thom Sesma (Broadway: The Lion King).
BWW Review: GHOSTS at the Seattle Rep
by Jay Irwin - Apr 7, 2022

To say that Henrik Ibsen’s play “Ghosts”, currently playing at the Seattle Rep as translated from the Norwegian by Paul Walsh, is bleak is an understatement to say the least. A play filled with secrets, lies, infidelities, sexual assault, venereal disease, incest, and euthanasia to mention just a few, sounds like enough bleak to bring anyone down. And while this sounds like a horrible evening at the theater, the superb cast including a couple of notable powerhouses, make the bleakness engaging and, dare I say, entertaining.
