Florida Studio Theatre announces that, due to audience demand, it is extending its outdoor dining entertainment series, now running Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings each week. FST first opened the veranda of its Green Room Café & Bar for outside dining with live musical entertainment on select evenings the second weekend of May.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Florida Studio Theatre (FST) announces the cancellation of its 2020 Summer Mainstage and Cabaret Seasons, originally set to kick off in mid-June, as well as the 12th Annual Sarasota Improv Festival slated for July. This difficult decision was made in effort to prioritize the health and wellbeing of FST's staff, artists, and the Sarasota community during the current COVID-19 health crisis.

On Monday, February 24, artists and supporters of Florida Studio Theatre (FST) flocked to its downtown campus for FST's annual fundraiser, the Dangerous Ladies Shindig. Long-time FST supporter Marie G. Kropp chaired the event, and Gulf Coast Community Foundation supported the Shindig as its lead sponsor. With exclusive live entertainment, the presentation of the distinguished Spelman Award, and a plated three-course dinner, FST's Dangerous Ladies Shindig was a not-to-be-missed event for many of the greatest supporters of the arts and contemporary theatre in Sarasota.

The producers of the Tony, Grammy & Olivier Award-Winning Best Musical Jersey Boysannounced today that Nicolas Dromard and Drew Seeley will join the Broadway cast in the roles of Tommy DeVito and Bob Gaudio (respectively) beginning Tuesday, September 20th. Richard H. Blake and Quinn VanAntwerp will play their final performances this Sunday, September 18th.

The producers of the Tony, Grammy & Olivier Award-Winning Best Musical Jersey Boys announced today that the Broadway production will end its record-breaking, 11-year run on Sunday, January 15, 2017 after 4,642 performances at the August Wilson Theatre (245 W 52nd St, NYC).

One of the major events this fall will be the arrival of the national tour of the 20th-longest running Broadway musical, Jersey Boys. At a recent event, I had the chance to chat with Matt Bailey (Tommy DeVito), Alayna Gallo (Lorraine and others), and Kevin Crewell (Bob Crewe and others) from the national touring company of Jersey Boys about the show, their experiences, and their acting beginnings. They had a lot to say, including some particularly nice things about the Durham Performing Arts Center as a venue.

Casting has been announced for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center premiere engagement of the Tony®, Grammy® and Olivier® Award winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
