Knife to the Heart, co-written by Stan Zimmerman and Christian McLaughlin, serves as the final production from Desert Ensemble Theatre, the Coachella Valley theatre company founded by Jerome Elliott and Shawn Abramowitz. Zimmerman, known for his writing on Golden Girls and Gilmore Girls, directs the play at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. April 16, 2026 Writer Stan Zimmerman, known for his work on The Golden Girls and Gilmore Girls, is directing two of his original plays in Palm Springs. Knife to the Heart will conclude Desert Ensemble Theatre’s run, while Silver Foxes will make its West Coast premiere.
