Right in the Eye at Open Scene at the Maitland Art Center

Right in the Eye is a live cinema concert by French company Alcoléa & Cie that brings 12 films by pioneering filmmaker Georges Méliès back to life through an original score performed live by three musicians.

Using more than 50 instruments and sound objects, including theremin, aquaphone, percussion, piano frame and unexpected everyday objects, the performers create a constantly shifting sound world around Méliès’ fantastical images. Music, sound effects and live performance transform some of cinema’s earliest experiments into a contemporary theatrical experience.

Following international performances around the world, Right in the Eye makes its Central Florida premiere at VI FIAE.
