Riverside Theatre's THE BIKINIS Begins Tonight

By:

Riverside Theatre, led by Producing Artistic Director/CEO Allen D. Cornell and Managing Director/COO Jon R. Moses, begins its 2014-2015 season with the 60's musical beach party, The Bikinis. This festive musical showcases 30 classic hits from the 60's and 70's as a fictional girl group reunites after 20 years for a benefit concert. Created by Ray Roderick and James Hindman, The Bikinis performs on the Stark Stage from tonight, October 28 - November 16, 2014.

Directed and Choreographed by Ray Roderick, The Bikinis stars Valerie Fagan as Annie, Joanna Young as Jodi, Gabrielle Lee as Barbara, and Karyn Quackenbush as Karla.

Based on the true story of Briny Breezes, FL, The Bikinis follows the tale of a fictional female singing group who reunites for a benefit concert and raise money for the good folks at the Sandy Shores Mobile Home Beach Resort. A developer has offered the residents the opportunity to sell their land so he can build condominiums. Do the residents accept the offer or keep their quaint community intact?

Annie, manager of the mobile home park, devises a plan to give the residents another option. Her plan is to get her girl group, The Bikinis, back together for a benefit concert. However, will the four, once inseparable friends, who won the Belmar Beach Talent Contest wearing just their bikinis, reunite after 20 years?

Reliving their heyday from the summer of '64, these ladies offer a nonstop celebration of song from their early days through the next two decades.

Featuring the hits "It's In His Kiss," "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini," "Heat Wave," "Under The Boardwalk," "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Look What They've Done To My Song," "When Will I Be Loved," "I'm Every Woman," "I Will Survive," and "It's Raining Men," The Bikinis is a musical beach party!

The design and production crew includes: Anne Shuttlesworth (Music Director), James Dardenne (Scenic Designer), Jamie Roderick (Lighting Designer), Craig Beyrooti (Sound Designer), and Audrey M. Brown (Production Stage Manager).

The Bikinis performs today, October 28 - November 16, 2014 on the Stark Stage at Riverside Theatre. Tickets start at $35. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 772-231-6990 or online at www.riversidetheatre.com.
