Tony Nominee Emily Skinner to Teach Master Class in Ada, 7/19

The Chickasaw Nation presents a Master Class "How to Audition and Song Interpretation," led by Broadway star Emily Skinner, from 1:30 - 4 p.m., Sunday, July 19, at the arts & humanities building.

Miss Skinner starred on Broadway in the musicals, Side Show, Billy Elliott, Jekyll & Hyde, James Joyce's The Dead, opposite Christopher Walken, The Full Monty and the play Dinner at Eight.

She earned a Tony Award nomination and Drama Desk Award for her work on Side Show, and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for Dinner at Eight.

Miss Skinner has also starred in Actors Fund productions of DreamGirls.

As a soloist, Miss Skinner has headlined engagements in several New York City venues including Merkin Hall, Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center and Feinstein's at the Regency, as well as her solo concert Broadway Her Way, which she has performed around the country.

Her CD recordings include a self-titled solo recording, several original Broadway cast recordings and the animated film soundtrack, Anastasia.

Miss Skinner will star in the Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma City, production of Big Fish this summer. Future projects include the new Hal Prince musical, Prince of Broadway.
She has taught master classes in musical theatre audition technique/song interpretation at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Mellon University, Signature Theatre, Broadway Artists Studio and Oklahoma University, and is currently a faculty member of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.

For the Ada class, there is a $10 fee for all non-Natives. Seating is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline to reserve seating is July 15.
