WE THE WOMEN

The cast has been announced for "We The Women", a new play that will be having its premiere at The Tank, a home for emerging artists. Aizzah Fatima*, Indika Senanayake*, Ayse Eldek*, Anne Connolly*, Clara Francesca*,Ezgi Cohen, Nazli Benan Ozkaya, Feryal Kilisli will take the stage on May 14th through May 20th at 3pm, 7pm & 9:30pm.

We The Women, an original play, reflects a more complete, global portrait of strong female
characters in history, mythology and our imagination.
The play has the stories of some of these women from history and mythology that have become idolized by many, and have become role models that have helped guide and encourage women over the years. From Joan of Arc to the first female fighter pilot Sabiha Gokcen, women throughout the ages have fought for their place on this earth.

This show is about reflecting a more complete, global portrait of strong female characters in history and mythology.

"This is going to be a must-see play", said Ayse Eldek, creator and co-director of the production.

”We don't only know these women through history but we feature them. It validates us and gives us a wider range of strong female role models.” added co-director Jessica Brater.

“There is a quote by writer Nora Ephron which states “Above all, be the heroine of your life, not
the victim.” This holds true of the female characters in the illuminating new play “WE THE
WOMEN,” which will be presented by the Turkish American Repertory Theater and
Entertainment (TARTE).The show is written by, and performed by strong and fearless women of today, reflecting on heroic trailblazing women of yesteryear.
