4thU Artivists, a NYC benefit performance group presents “Sacred Wombs: Honoring Marginalized Birthing Bodies.” This performance will be held in-person, on stage, with a live audience as well as live-streamed to a virtual audience. The piece will highlight original birth stories and true experiences with discrimination in the hospital system by BIPOC. Enhancing the presentation, Carol Maillard, founding member of Grammy Award nominated group Sweet Honey in the Rock & cast member, will perform a song. Presented in the style of The Vagina Monologues, the show evolves constantly using true stories, news articles, and testimonials, and was curated by 4thU Artivists.
Net proceeds support Women Deliver and City of Joy.
