NEANDERTHALS, written by Christine Benvenuto and directed by Melody Brooks, explores the complex dynamics of memory and reality through the story of Graceful, an anthropology student who takes on the role of caregiver for Marti, an older woman facing early dementia. As a mysterious man claiming to be Marti's son appears, tensions rise, forcing both women to confront hidden truths amidst an unsettling backdrop of screams and chaos outside. This gripping narrative unfolds during the Sweet Noise Mini Festival of Readings hosted by New Perspectives Theatre Company in New York City.
