The Green Room 42 presents Maybe It's Raining in Brooklyn by Gillian Britt on September 10th at 7pm.
Dana and David Sully are the somewhat proud, mostly harried owners of a prominent art gallery on the Upper East Side. Dana, the business side of artistry, is ever-frustrated by her husband’s inability to manage even simple administrative tasks. David, the true artiste, is driven mad by his wife’s commitment to the gallery’s flourishing, above all else. Their children, the frightfully devoted Marjorie and the wildly bohemian Dylan, have both come home for the art gallery’s gala event. Marjorie is infuriated that her brother has been chosen to present a piece at the gallery, while Dylan is more occupied with wooing the long-suffering personal assistant to the Sullys, Ruth, than he is with leaving an artistic impression. Also joining the Sullys for this fateful weekend is Hana, David’s coed mistress, and Anton, the object of Marjorie’s (unrequited) affection. While the faithful Ruth endeavors to keep the gala on track, everyone else seems committed to unleashing unrelenting chaos in Gillian Britt's new comedy, Maybe It’s Raining in Brooklyn. The cast will feature David Cagan, Dayna Michelle Kurtz, Caroline Digan, Camryn Graves, Jim Grant, Gianni Sallese, Maria Mohajir, and Stephen Grant. This staged reading will be directed by Madelyn Stewich.
Tickets are available starting at $21.75, with no food or beverage minimum. Tickets and more information are available at www.thegreenroom42.com.
