JACK Plays JACK at The Met Fifth Avenue Gallery 616, European Paintings 1300–1800

New York’s most cutting-edge string quartet plays their own compositions for an up-close evening in The Met’s galleries. Over the last 20 years, JACK Quartet have cemented themselves as one of “contemporary music’s indispensable ensembles” (The New York Times). Hear the fearless quartet premiere a new work by JACK violinist Christopher Otto in conjunction with the special installation Ecologies of Painting, a provocative exploration of how artists shape cultural conceptions of the natural world. Plus, hear music by JACK violinist Austin Wulliman and other pieces by Otto in this intimate performance in The Met’s European Paintings galleries.

This performance is part of The Met’s programming for Ecologies of Painting within Look Again: European Paintings 1300-1800. This performance is presented in conjunction with The Met’s Department of European Paintings.
