Up and coming Playwright, Aladen Gulmohamad, is pleased to present this 60 minute excerpt of his brand new play, CHESTNUTS as an official selection of the Spark Theater Festival, directed by award winning director and producer, Katie Michelle Stahl at TADA THEATER (28th Street Theatre, 2nd Fl. 15 W. 28th Street New York City, NY)

Press are invited and welcome to attend the April 12th presentation of CHESTNUTS. 

CHESTNUTS is an extremely raw, bitterly hilarious, and topical play about familial trauma and addiction that spans generations. The show takes place over the course of a single Christmas night, where unresolved grief, addiction, and love collide inside a fractured household. When confrontations turn violent and temptation pushes Malcolm to the edge of relapse, CHESTNUTS becomes a reckoning, forcing each character to confront the difference between love and enabling, loyalty and responsibility, and grief and accountability. By morning, the family is irrevocably changed, learning that healing does not come from saving others, but from finally choosing truth.

CHESTNUTS features a small but mighty cast including Allen Raja, Anil Joseph, Nikol Tsvetanova, Rajan Worden, and Sezen Hatta.

The creative team also includes Associate Director Amanda Rabinowitz, Intimacy and Stage Combat Choreographer Kait Dieppa. Marketing and publicity is a group effort between the Spark Theatre Festival and Katie Michelle Stahl.
