ON THE HOOK welcomes audiences to their new adaptation of O'Neill's classic American play. The eco-theater production company presents the play with an eco-feminist lens, unpacking how humankind's domination of the Earth is echoed in today's patriarchal and capitalistic societies.
CHRISTIE will premiere on Saturday October 15, 2022 and run for a total of five performances: at 7:00pm on October 15th, 21st, and 22nd, and at 3:00pm on October 16 and 23. Directed by theatrical curator Nicky Maggio (N/they/them), the site-specific reimagining will take place at the Waterfront Museum, a preserved coal barge docked at Pier 44 in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Sitting at the helm of the production is producer, playwright, and actor Covi Loveridge Brannan (she/her). Brannan began writing her adaptation of Anna Christie in 2020 when she founded ON THE HOOK for her Master of Arts and Entrepreneurship thesis project at The New School in NYC. She will be assuming the role of O'Neill's title character, Anna, and will be joined by Rick Benson (he/him) as Chris Christopherson, and Mike Sause (he/him) as Mat Burke to bring to life this immersive tale of oppression and transformation.
Creative Team: Federica Borlenghi (Casting Director & Co-Producer), Nathan Mullen (Stage Manager), Raphael Anastas (Press & Marketing Consultant), Michi Zaya (Social Media Manager & Graphic Designer), Alyssa Chetrick (Music Director/Performer), Nathan Mullen (Stage Manager), James Vincent Murray (Production Manager), Adrian Yuen (Lighting Designer), Patricia Marjorie (Scenic & Props Designer), Jules Peiperl (Costume Designer), Alex Allwine (Fight Coordinator), Jenn Robbins (Associate Producer/Community Teaching Artist), Malikka Advani (Production Assistant).
