An Enemy of the People at American Theatre of Actors

Duse Productions launches a bold, intimate new staging of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, beginning January 28 at the American Theatre of Actors. Created by producer and actor Sanio Kurtesevic—a Bosnian war survivor who immigrated to the U.S. in 1997—the production offers a perspective unlike anything previously seen. Using a brand-new English translation drawn directly from Ibsen’s 1897 Norwegian edition, the play is performed in full, with a clear, truthful, and emotionally charged approach designed to reach modern audiences. This Equity Showcase marks the launch phase of a planned expansion toward an extended Off-Broadway run and ultimately Broadway. Presented in an intimate, immersive setting, the staging brings audiences face-to-face with Ibsen’s urgent themes of truth, courage, and the cost of integrity in a divided society.
