Will a man who speaks nine languages ever learn to communicate with his wife? Will the last two speakers of a soon-to-be dead language break their vow of silence? The lives of five people are imaginatively woven together as they discover that no matter how many words they can speak, it’s the heart’s language that matters most - a fable about the limits of language in matters of the heart. Passionate... wise and wonderful.” - Talkin' Broadway

Of this production director Colbourn says, “In this funny and heartwarming play, actors will at times directly address the audience, taking them on an irresistible journey exploring how we connect with each other. With simple and fluid staging using light, sound, music, and projections on a minimal set, this very human story unfolds with sometimes hilarious, often touching moments that show us what it can mean to be fully understood.“

County Players was born in 1958. During our lifetime, we have presented over 200 productions and have served thousands of theatre-goers who continue to reward our efforts with their loyal attendance. Clearly, they share our belief that we provide excellent theatre. In 1977, we acquired the old Academy Theatre in the Village of Wappingers Falls, and through countless hours of volunteer efforts, we have turned a crumbling relic into a living theatre — The County Players Falls Theatre. We paid off our mortgage, continue to make improvements to our building, and still manage to keep our prices at an affordable level. Our promise for the future is to continue on the path of fiscal responsibility, theatrical improvement, and entertainment! Mission: To delight, educate, and challenge the community and to nurture creative expression, through theatre and the performing arts of the highest quality.
