Arguably Shakespeare's most pervasive comedy, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' has a little something for everyone. Don't like the tangled web of misdirected lovers? Stay for the mischievous fairy who does the tangling. Not a fan of the blow-out fighting of the Fairy King and Queen? You'll love the bumbling troupe of clowns ready to put on the best darn play this town's ever seen. Weaving all of those together gives a rich tapestry of a show meditating on one question; why is it that life is so much better with love? And how do we get it back when we've lost it? Arachne Theater presents for the second time at Caveat our annual two-show summer festival! Our 5th annual season is "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Taming of the Shrew." We believe that these shows were created to be timely, funny, and thought-provoking... and while the insurance people have said we can't allow you groundlings to throw tomatoes at us, audience participation and investment in classic theater is a cornerstone to our irreverence. We reject wholeheartedly the idea that Shakespeare should be enjoyed quietly. So come hoot, holler, drink, be merry, and even have the opportunity to submit ad lib lines to our actors!
