ladyybirdd (flutist Gina Izzo) celebrates the release of her debut album Tomorrow’s Yesterday. Far from conventional, the music is set to a landscape of electro-acoustic composition integrating improvisation and analog FX with the flute at the center. While a flute may seem an unlikely candidate for musical insurrection, ladyybirdd brings dynamic intensity and unrestricted adventure. Tomorrow’s Yesterday, out August 25 on Innova Recordings, features contributions from Ambrose Akinmusire, Ian Rosenbaum, Erika Dohi, Immanuel Wilkins, and Nick Dunston, and is produced by Joseph Branciforte. For this performance, Izzo will be joined by Joseph Branciforte, Erika Dohi, Immanuel Wilkins, and others to be announced.
