Experience the timeless story of justice, morality, and courage as Riverside Center for the Performing Arts presents To Kill a Mockingbird on stage from May 7 through June 22, 2025. This powerful adaptation of Harper Lee’s classic novel, and dramatized by Christopher Sergel, shows local lawyer Atticus Finch defending the man in a trial that sends violent waves through the community. Timeless and lingering, this hard-hitting work explores prejudice, compassion and the courage to do what is right.

Atticus Finch is being played by Tug Coker. Tug Coker is an actor and writer originally from Fredericksburg, VA. He starred on Broadway as Larry Bird in the play Magic/Bird, directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton). Other theater credits include The Rainmaker (Old Globe), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (A.R.T.), Take Me Out (Studio Theatre), and The Cataract (Women's Project). His TV/Film credits include: The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Ballers, Mixed-ish, The Good Wife, Chuck, NCIS, and Law & Order: SVU. As a writer, he co-created Now We're Talking (Writers Guild Nomination), which he Executive Produced with LeBron James’ company, Springhill Entertainment. BA: University of Virginia. MFA: American Repertory Theater at Harvard University. Starring alongside Tug is Elani Roza Yanez as Scout, Grayson Lewis as Jem, Ashlee James as Calpurina, Andrea Kahane as Ms. Maudie, Stephanie Wood as Ms. Stephanie, and Kathy Halenda as Mrs. Dubose. David Landrum as Boo Radley, Adian Chapman as Nathan Radley, Mathias Glick as Dill, Ian Lane as Heck Tate, Todd Pristas as Judge Taylor, and Robert Freeman as Reverend Sykes. Sarah Stewart as Mayella Ewell, Wilson Johnson as Bob Ewell, C.C. Gallagher as Mr. Cunningham, Andy Braden as Mr. Gilmer, Anthony Williams as Tom Robinson, Nyarai Rene as Helen Robinson and Colby LeRoy as the 4th Man and Clerk.

The creative team is led by CEO & Producing Artistic Director, Patrick A’Hearn, and directed by Quinn Vogt-Welch, with Assistant Director Nyarai Burell. The design team includes Scenic Designer Frank Foster, Lighting Designer Mike Jarett, Sound Designer Cheyenne Tenda, and Costume Designer Erin Welsh.

Evening performances start at 7:30pm with dinner service beginning at 5:30pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Matinee performances start at 1:30pm with meal service beginning at 11:30am on Wednesday and 3:00pm on Sunday with dinner service beginning at 1:00pm.
