Project description:
Dust off and test out your stand-up material in a COVID-free setting AKA your own home! This comedy special will feature 12 different comedians from around North America with 6 performing on two separate nights via a live YouTube stream. Every comedian will give a 15 minute set of their best material to all the paying viewers watching from home. 50% of ticket sales will be split evenly between each performer, and the fans will have the option to donate to the collective comedian tip jar. All tips will be evenly split between each performer. Tech rehearsals are TBD upon comedian availability.
All levels of comedy mastery are welcome to audition, from those who have been performing regularly until COVID ruined everything, to first timers who have always wanted to test out their funny bone but haven't had the chance. UNTIL NOW!
Please submit a self-taped 2-3 minute ORIGINAL comedy bit that you plan to include in your 15 minute set performance. Existing reels that showcase previous stand-up performances are also welcome, as long as they are 2-3 minute excerpts and will be included in your 15 minute set performance. In other words, audition with the material you will ultimately perform. NextStage STRONGLY encourages humans from all walks of life to submit, including but not limited to: LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Latinx, and ALL gender identities.
