Call Type: NON-UNION

*CONTRACT / PAY
Unfortunately there will be no contract offered and no pay. This is a great way to get experience performing original work in New York City.

**IMPORTANT REHEARSAL / PERFORMANCE DATES**
Please ONLY submit your audition information if you are available for the following dates:

October 24th, 2017 5:45 – TECH REHEARSAL
October 26th, 2017 8:30pm-10:15pm – DRESS REHEARSAL
October 27th, 2017 at 9:00pm -PERFORMANCE
October 28th, 2017 at 9:00pm – PERFORMANCE

Rehearsals to occur during the week depending on the days / times available for the cast and director. (Rehearsals most likely will take place Wednesday and Thursday along with evening rehearsals on the other week days and weekends if needed. Location TBD).

*ABOUT THE SHOW
The short play centers around two characters – one a doctor (Lisa) and one a patient (The Woman) who has come to terms with her terminal virus. The play takes place within the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in Manhattan during the AIDS epidemic.


*CHARACTER BREAKDOWN*

LISA - (Late 20’s-50’s) A researcher during the AIDS epidemic in New York City trying to figure out why the virus works the way it does and how she can help find treatment and possibly even a cure. She is stressed out and overwhelmed with the work being done in the clinic along with the deaths taking place. Strong actress needed for this role.


THE WOMAN - (Early 20’s – late 30’s) A victim of the AIDS epidemic. She is a sweet woman in nature but like many during this time, frightened and needing someone to care for her instead of running away. Strong actress. Must be able to cry on command if needed.

**WHEN**
September 16th, 2017 – 22nd, 2017 (NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE REVIEWED AFTER SEPTEMBER 22ND.)

**WHAT TO PREPARE**
A one-minute dramatic monologue that shows you off as a performer. There is a monologue side that can be read for Lisa if you wish to read from the show.
(Reading Lisa’s monologue is NOT required and does NOT have to be memorized). If you choose to read from the show please e-mail Dir., Justin Gallagher with the e-mail address provided below to obtain the side.
