About the musical: Oscar-winning animator, Will Vinton first gave the world Claymation. Now he’s created THE KISS, a fairy tale about love… and a frog. Vinton together with platinum composer and lyricist, David Pomeranz, created an outrageously new original musical comedy for theatre audiences of all ages. Based loosely on “The Frog Prince” a legendary story originally penned by the Brothers Grimm, this timeless tale of transformation is retold through a contemporary lens. With an additional book by Jesse Vinton and Greg Tamblyn, the show involves fantastic characters, extraordinary music, and no shortage of fairy tale magic. ??

The Story: Arro is an arrogant prince with a hopping problem he’s on a quest to solve. His odyssey is helped by a motherly Raccoon, a silly Beaver, and a serious Snail. A malevolent witch and her depraved rat henchman seeking revenge on the kingdom have plans of their own. Our hero has only three days or he’ll be transformed into a frog forever, and the only person who can save him is a strong-willed princess – who despises him. She unwillingly must marry the newly arrived Prince (or is he?) whom she doesn’t love. When all these stories come crashing together, will it all end “Happily Ever After?

Lakewood encourages diversity in casting and the directing team is strongly seeking artists of any race, gender, and body type. Ensemble members may play multiple roles. ALL roles are open and available for audition.
